The passionate, knowledgeable team at AWA has been skilfully navigating our section of the Waikato river for nearly 30 years. They will welcome you warmly, soothe your nerves, and keep you safe while you're on the awa.
JAMES
James is one of the founders of Rapids Jet, the predecessor to AWA. James “Jimmy” Tazewell has been a commercial jet boat driver since 1997. He loves seeing families out on the water and is a Dad himself.
AMANDA
Amanda has been with AWA since 2020. She’s the friendly face who takes care of you before and after your ride. If you look closely, you might spot Amanda on the shoreline, camera in-hand!
SHANNON
Shannon has been with AWA since 2016, and is obsessed with driving anything with an engine. And when he’s not driving jet boats, you might find him out white-water rafting too.
